How To Help Fix Incorrect Audiotrack Information

The artist-album-track view is based on audiotrack tags applied to individual file tickets. If you see an error in this view, you can help fix it by downrating incorrect audiotrack tags, uprating correct tags, and by supplying missing correct audiotrack information with a new audiotrack tag.

Example

You note an entry for "Sonic youth", which should be "Sonic Youth". Navigate to "S : Sonic youth". All of the albums listed will have tracks with miscapitalized audiotrack information.
  • Click on one of the albums listed. Now you will see a list of tracks.
  • Click on one of the tracks listed. Now you will see a list of tickets, each representing a unique file.
  • Click on one of the filename / filesize links. Now you will see a ticket page for an individual file.
  • Click on "Expand to Full Detail View". Scroll down the page, you will see a list of all tags applied to this ticket.
  • Now, you can fix or add audiotrack information:
    • Click "--" or "-" to downrate a tag containing incorrect information.
    • Scroll to the bottom of the page, and where it says "Contribute your own tag", click on "Audio Track". Enter correctly spelled information. Note that audiotrack tag fields should be filled in completely, and differently for each track. In other words, don't only enter a corrected spelling, enter all of the artist-album-title-track number-year information for each audiotrack tag you enter.
  • Repeat this process for other files.
Presently errors will continue to appear in the view until all applications of the erroneous audiotrack tag to individual tickets have been downrated. We're aware that this could be a pain if a bad audiotrack tag has been applied to many files, though usually each bad tag will be applied to one or a few tickets, while good tags will be applied to many tickets -- there are an infinite number of variations on incorrect audiotrack information, only one or a few correct variations. We appreciate your pioneering bitizen fortitude!
