Bitzi Development Tasks Wish List

Bitcollider plug-ins recognize certain kinds of files during bitprinting, and perform format-specific metadata analysis and extraction. Some potential new formats to handle would include:
  • ZIP and other composite formats: recursively bitprint & analyze uncompressed contents, and indicate the "contains"/"contained-by" relationships via (yet-to-be-defined) tags.
  • SHN, FLAC and other lossless-compression formats: automatically bitprint & analyze decompressed version in parallel with compressed version.
All outstanding bitcollider bugs and requests for enhancement are recorded via the bitcollider project tracker at SourceForge.

Other utilities:

  • Spider a website for specific files (e.g. MP3s), throttled to be nice, doing a Bitcollider metadata-submission of each interesting file found.
Integration with other software:
  • Contribute code to open-source P2P projects which enables local files or search results to be looked-up at the Bitzi website or annotated with Bitzi info. (Possible projects that could benefit from Bitzi links: Gnut, Gnucleus.)
