unzip-on-the-fly support?   [forward as email]
Would it be possible for bitcollider to unzip files on the fly and add the bitprints for the files contained in the .ZIP? Many times the .ZIP file's bitprint is not important, and depending on the compression level or date stamp etc, the bitprint of the .zip file can change. Obviously gnutella clients will need to support this also for people to retrieve files out of .ZIPs but bitcollider support would be a step in the right direction.

Thanks

That's a good idea that's come up a few times. In fact, it's even listed on our dev tasks wish list.

(There's also a quicktime compressed format that Delirium's video plug-in could also tackle if we have zlib decompression in the Bitcollider.)

So we'll add that feature eventually -- sooner if someone contributes the coding effort!

In addition to the dev wishlist page, see the bitcollider project tracker at SourceForge. There you'll find bugs and requests for enhancement, including one of the latter concerning ZIP file plugin.

I just added a link to the tracker on the aforementioned wishlist page.
