Check out anysoldier.com. Posted is how the whole process works. It will list the representative or volunteer to distribute with thier Rank/Position and Address. They will tell you what thier current status and what the soldiers really need.
These guy's are volunteers, and as a past volunteer I can tell you it matters. Most of the Servicemen do this for the Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, Airmen who do not have anyone to send them packages or letters for what ever reason.
I can tell you it makes a difference; when your away from home, working exausting hours with no rest or break, whith little to no comforts; a letter from some college girls and a picture of them wearing flag bikini's really raises morale.
As a E-4 in DesertStorm, single and struggling in the middle of the desert just to brush your teeth I benifited from any soldier packages, it was great. In Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Platoon Sergeant with 28 Males and 1 Female I distributed anysoldier packages and letters to the ones who really needed it. And every Firebase is different thats why anysoldier.com comes in were you can see the persons blog that tells you what the troops need in thier situation.
Now as a retired soldier and BITCITIZEN, I'm trying to get the word out.
Know matter how you feel about the conflict overseas, you can support your troops, the cousins, brothers and sisters. Somewere thier is a connection for everyone to Service members. If not a relative; it may have been someone you went to highschool together.
What I'm doing is buninig all the Dvdrips I can and sending them 4 movies on 2 discs in an envelope with 2 postage stamps. One recipient is my best friend who is a MP Capt in Afganistan; the other is a Dog Handler Platoon Sergeant in Taji, Iraq. The movies I burn off Frostwire and find off Bitzi I send to them and they hand them out to solders or have a little platoon houche movie night. that's what I did. The soldiers are paying thier money to the Hodgie vendors for the same movies we burn.
So be a patriot, be a hero and write a letter to a Soldier who could use it. Send a movie that you got for free.
