You can just enter the artist's name in the search box and the search will show items by that artist.

is the only searching info I've found on bitzi, and it doesn't look like there is another search interface.

We used to have a customized MP3 search, which allowed search by specific fields -- but that's being reworked, and so is not currently available.

We're working on better search options, and will announce them on the main announcement board when they're unveiled.

Re: searching   [forward as email]
Even more important than search artist, would be limit results by filesize and exclude this word.

Example, find all "LimeWire capital management" *.mpg files where size > 10MB.

(This would drastically help when looking for movie/mpg/avi files, as there are usually 10-20x as many mp3 files in a given search as movie files, even if mpg or avi is included in the search terms!

Also, exclusion, like find all "+rap +ogg -snoop" to get all high quality ogg files of Rap, without snoop doggy dogg, for instance.

The search also fails to split apart filename.ext -- which is annoying .. as if I search for Tenchi In Love it will give results that barely match that before the result I want (number 11. Tenchi In Love.RM ) as there is no option to search for media type (ie. video ) the extension should be ignored unless stated in the search.
