I'm almost done completely rewriting the plugin, since what I had was a giant mess that was impossible to maintain or add additional formats to. AVI support is still working, and I've finally found a good description of the MPEG header format, so that should be next (until now every site I've found just said "order the MPEG standard documentation from ISO for details").

I'll upload the new version somewhere within 1-2 days. In the meantime, a question about audio metadata in video files: how should I handle it? Should I try to use existing audio tags (like audio.bitrate), or should I create something like video.audio.bitrate, or something like video.audiobitrate (or video.audio_bitrate)?
