Ive been using Limewire and Ares for some time now, while I find Ares usefull still, I have found Limewire has really gone to shit (I even use the pro version). But weather the file is correct or not both programes start downloading nine timed out of ten pretty well straight away. So I am trying emule, I have had files that say waiting for hours now, any one know why they wont connect? Also I woud like to know what other p2p Bitzians use

eMule is TOTAL crap in many ways, except the quality and multitude of files. As in, it has MANY and VERY GOOD files, but it also has a shitty system, that is of waiting and of astronomical queues (I've witnessed myself sometimes waiting in queues numbering even 20.000... this is saying, imagine a line to the bread-shop with 20.000 people ahead of you, and I think that if you close the program and reopen it, you're at the back of the line again). The good thing about it is, it has good cache and tons of files, many very rare, so at least for downloading small files, like pictures or even music that you won't find anywhere else, it's great.

I use Shareaza and BearShare, Shareaza has the good thing of connecting to many servers, including LimeWire's, BearShare's and even eMule's (so while you download fast from LW and BS servers, you can afford to wait for the files on eMule/eDonkey). BearShare I recommend, as Erakun explained to me, only old versions. I currently use version 5.1.0 and it works great, I suggest you don't get anything over 5.2, because it gets crappier and malware full.

LimeWire is also good, but it almost killed my computer every time I opened it, from my experience it eats lots of rams. Ares I don't use because, from what I know, it's rather closed-circuit, so it doesn't have a big file range.
