Like many people I have a number of times downloaded a file that appeared to be a movie but then discovered it would not play unless you download some other software

We all know what it is they dont need a free advert by naming them

I am assuming that like me everybody mutters a few choice words and then clicks delete.

Now having deleted them I was suddenly curious to know if anybody has tried to burn one of these files to a disc and tried to play it in a regular DVD player capable of playing divx encoded avi files

If so What happens ?

Beyond setting up the header information and the title info., I wouldn't think there is much else on the file if it's just the 153kb, 277kb or 447kb files. If it actually contains a short directional url pointer to a website like, say to a porn site, it could be as much as 3577kb if there are some low res images on the file also.

That would be my guess without actually wasting a good DVD to actually see. :P
