useless files and useless people should be banned   [forward as email]
I would really like to know why people submit usless file info. It seems to me that bitzi was designed to help one find a file which they are looking for. I wonder who out there is looking for trailers, spam porno or other useless types of files I see being submitted. Truly people, I am not searching for this useless info are you? I guess it is your lack of understanding as well as intelligence as to what bitzi is and what is was designed for. Perhaps if you do some reading about bitzi you might figure it out and start submitting something that is of some use. I think the people who's personal pages which we all can see containing this crap should be banned from bitzi as they are just as useless as their submissions

When it rains, it pours!

You are a person that believes Bitzi is only for "good files" that "normal people want to download", never once considering the fact that maybe, just maybe, people use Bitzi's metadata in order to discover if a file is worth downloading, or the potential threat that exists should they attempt to use a file they have downloaded.

What I really believe is going on is that some Bitizens have a penchant for loading, and re-loading the "Recent Bitprints" list whenever the idea dawns on them. (Have you noticed some of the item lists are no longer available due to them being over used/abused?!?!) Then, every time someone submits a rash of "bad files" that drive out the "good files" from the Recent list for a period of 15 minutes to half an hour, they seem to think that those submitting this information are "denying" them of a Bitzi "service".

I will say here and now, I will continue to use Bitzi for what it is meant to be used as. A place to submit metadata about files, be the files good or bad, and to encourage others to do the same. I will do all of this for those who come here seeking THE SPECIFIC BITPRINT ITSELF, and not for those who rummage around Bitzi "in search of something to download".

The only way you find all of these useless "personal pages" about useless files is by looking for them. And you found them exactly where they belong.

There are many sites that provide download links to good files only so perhaps that is what you are expecting of Bitzi too, but in fact piracy is not the purpose of this place.

The uniqueness of Bitzi is that it is the only resource that we can use to warn each other about the bad files out there, as well as provide objective opinions about ALL the other files instead of limiting ourselves to reporting on only the best of the best.

Even so, if you are willing to learn how to sort wheat from chaff, Bitzi is still one of the best resources available to seek out and find whatever you want on the peer-to-peer networks and is still the only one that is actually integrated into most of the peer-to-peer software.
