Well, the new version is out now and Gwren has implemented some kind of tree based hash.

As far as I can tell, the scheme he's using is not one that Bitzi is compatible with more's the pity.

However, you can still search by file name, and Gwren has said he will implement ED2K hashes as well in a later version so I'm not ready to giv this up as a bad job yet.
