Bitzi Developer Discussion: submission protocol version and other things

submission protocol version and other things   [forward as email]
Can someone fix the "We don't know about bitprint submission protocol version ''." error?

And why are first 20 bytes and filesize together?

I don't see any use in that.

Anyone still working on bitzi? It surely looks dead.

Have you compiled a custom version of our Bitcollider tool, or are otherwise submitting data from your own code? That looks like an error which might occur if no submission version at all is included on a POST.

The 20bytes and filesize are together as they are both raw, objective info about a file other than its hash(es) that we will have for every file.. They could be separate tags; in practice the groupings don't really matter.

We are still working on Bitzi! However, the core team has other full-time commitments as well, so Bitzi hasn't received as much updating as we'd like.

To the builder of Bitcollider allow me to say thanx for a great lil program.

I would add that I've noticed the same answer when one ask's for support regarding The Error listed below:

"We don't know about bitprint submission protocol version"

The answer that is steadily given regarding The Error is as follows:

"Have you compiled a custom version of our Bitcollider tool ?"

Heck most of us don't know how to compile a custom version of Bitcollider we just use the program.

Look no disrespect!

But even I can see that Bitcollider is conflicting with something that it interacts with, something it never conflicted with before(but does now, something new!)

So I'm submiting my stats below in hopes that it might aid you in spoting a commonality(In my opinion probably IE.8)

I think it's just a communications or caching bug
on the site. Gordon is apparently aware of it.

Resubmitting the data, usually by refreshing the
page (Try the F5 key) and letting your browser
resend the data almost always works the first time.

If it doesn't work the second time trying again
will always work unless something on the site had
actually crashed, in which case the error messages
will change from "We don't know about bitprint
submission protocol version ''." to something else.
